We went into the Abilities Expo hoping to meet the caregiving community. What we got was a tidal wave of warmth, collaboration, and validation that left us humbled and buzzing with excitement.
Yes, we sold jackets (thank you to those who took one home—we can’t wait to hear your stories!). But the real magic? The connections. From organizers to attendees, everyone met us with open arms—and open notebooks. Your feedback on our design was priceless. Your personal stories? Even more so.
Unexpected Wins & Collaborations
We were floored by the generosity of established brands willing to partner with our "baby" company, despite us having just one product. And the disabled fashion designers who stopped by? Pure inspiration. Their ideas for expanding our line left us scribbling notes like mad.
As a disabled-owned brand, we know the frustration of unmet needs firsthand. But the disability community is not a monolith—which is why your voices are our compass. Every conversation confirmed what we suspected: The world needs more adaptive clothing that works as hard as caregivers do.
What We Learned (And What’s Next)
The weekend gifted us two things:
-
A packed inbox (thank you, newsletter subscribers—you’re our lifeline!).
-
A lightning bolt of clarity for our next product.
Parents and caregivers shared struggles we’d never considered. We heard about beloved adaptive brands that vanished, leaving gaps no one filled. It lit a fire under us. Our mission? To create pieces that marry medical practicality with everyday dignity—because getting dressed shouldn’t be a battle.
Gratitude & A Promise
To everyone who paused at our booth: Thank you. Your stories healed parts of us we didn’t know needed healing. This wasn’t just networking—it was proof we’re on the right path, together.
Mark your calendars: We’ll be back at the NJ Expo next year, hopefully with an expanded line that answers even more of your needs. Until then? We’re listening. Always.
With love and determination,
Joey Corasio
